“We’re thrilled to be going back out on the road with Lyle and his band,” Raitt said. “Out under the stars with such great songs and slinky grooves – what better way to spend a summer night?”

The two accomplished singer/songwriters first hooked up many moons ago – 1986 to be exact – when Raitt invited Lovett to accompany her for what turned out to be his first national tour.

Both have new albums out, although Lovett’s material, Anthology Vol. 1 Cowboy Man, revisits tunes from his early career. Raitt’s Silver Lining recently went gold and has been called her best offering yet. In other words, after three decades of recording and touring, and nine Grammys under her rhinestone belt, she still has the chops.

Running up to their joint venture, the two artists have solo outings to keep them busy. Lovett has a steady stream of shows that began in April, despite a bone-crushing run-in with a bull the month prior. Raitt’s dates end this week in San Francisco.
