Formed in the mid-‘70s, Pere Ubu have been a leader in the underground art-punk scene since their inception. The band came about after the demise of Rocket From The Tombs when several members reunited under the leadership of enigmatic frontman David Thomas.

Trudging through the usual turmoil a rock n’ roll lifestyle inflicts on a band – drug and alcohol battles, members dying or leaving the group, disbanding and reuniting several times over – Pere Ubu weathered the ride and have emerged triumphant in the 21st century.

The band’s latest album, just released, is garnering rave critical reviews and being called Pere Ubu’s best to date. In addition to their first album of new material in four years, pre-Ubu band Rocket From The Tombs released an album of material recorded live in 1975.

Frontman David Thomas has kept himself busy in between Pere Ubu projects. Along with recording a couple of albums with his side-band called Dave Thomas And Two Pale Boys, the trio were featured in the London West End production of “Shockhead Peter” from April to mid-June this year.
