Cool Off With Coldplay
U.K. balladeers Coldplay jump the pond after a July spent in Europe for a brief U.S. club run. The August outing finds the band calling on the big cities of Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., New York, Minneapolis, San Francisco, and Los Angeles just prior to their sophomore album release.
A Rush Of Blood To The Head, which features the single “In My Place,” is due out on the 27th.
One month following their U.S. trek, Coldplay up the ante and take on arenas back home in the U.K. The 11-date run kicks off October 4 in Scotland and will hit major venues across England and Northern Ireland through the end of the month.
Tickets for the U.S. and U.K. mini-tours will be made available to registered users through the band’s official Web site starting July 8, with the public on-sale beginning the following day.
While a fairly steady fixture on European stages, it’s been one year since Coldplay last toured the States. The band’s most recent North American tour saw them playing to packed theatres around the States and Canada in the early summer months of 2001.
There’s no word yet on support acts for the upcoming U.S. dates.
