The problems seemed to have stemmed from a flare-up of his prior-existing conditions of diabetes and high blood pressure. Simple bed rest and a change in medications are all this artist needed in order to hit the road again. He will return to performing starting with a gig at the North Atlantic Blues Festival in Maine, July 21.

The guitar legend was forced to cancel a few gigs scheduled for the second week of July due to chest pains.

Diddley was scheduled to appear at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut July 11 and at the Fleet Blues Festival in New York on July 13, but his participation in both shows was nixed due to doctor’s orders.
