Australia’s Livid
When the Northern Hemisphere begins to close its shutters in preparation for winter, things downunder will begin to heat up. Returning for the 16th year is Australia’s Livid festival and, for the first time ever, it’s taking the show on the road. Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney will each host the event for one day during October.
Although there’s more acts to be added to the list, this year’s fest will be headlined by Brisbane act Powderfinger, while Oasis nab the international headliner slot. Bands including Grinspoon, George, Unwritten Law, …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, Sum 41, Mogwai, and Something For Kate will support.
Dance acts are on the “to be added” list. Last year, Aussie breakouts The Avalanches headlined the Annex dance stage, along with Mad Professor and Full Fanthom.
In addition to a fun-filled day of rock ‘n’ roll, Livid also features an animation film festival, DC Shoes skate demo, Livid Arts and of course, vendors hawking the best in international foods and goods.
Tickets go on sale August 5 for $88 Aussie dollars.
