Lord Of The Dance
Most of the stops are multi-night ventures, ranging from two to seven dates at a time. This second leg will keep to the Eastern half of the States, much like the first half of the tour did earlier this year.
For those not already acquainted with the troupe, which has sold out venues around the world since its inception in the late ‘90s, Lord Of The Dance is a blend of traditional and modern Celtic music and dance. The story is a classic tale of good vs. evil, as Don Dorcha, the Dark Lord, challenges the Lord Of The Dance.
It is also a love story expressed through dance numbers. The action is played out on a grand scale with precision dancing, dramatic music, colorful costumes, state-of-the-art staging, lighting and pyrotechnics.
“Our goal is to take the audience on a wondrous adventure that will ignite its minds and souls,” said Lord Of The Dance mastermind and dancer Michael Flatley. “We’ve combined traditional and modern forms of dance to create a high octane blend of soulful beats and feet that move too fast to comprehend.”
Speaking of too fast to comprehend, Flatley is listed in The Guinness Book Of World Records for having the “world’s fastest feet” – clocking in at 35 taps per second.
Flatley hung up his dancing shoes last year and no longer performs alongside his world-famous dancers.
