Elbowed Out
British melancholic rockers Elbow have been forced to cancel their U.S. tour due to a “personal emergency.” The September dates are expected to be rescheduled sometime in early 2003.
The tour was to feature Texas-based group Lift To Experience opening.
Elbow are no strangers to Stateside stages. Earlier this summer, they shared a co-bill with the Doves and before that supported Pete Yorn. This was to be their first headlining gigs on this side of the pond, though.
The band’s debut album, Asleep In The Back, which was released in 2001 in the U.K. and in January, 2002, in the U.S., was met with critical accolades and earned the group a nod for best newcomer at the 2002 Brit Awards as well as a 2001 Mercury Music Prize nomination.
