Macca & Ringo To Play Harrison Tribute
The two surviving former Beatles will join a number of artists for a concert honoring George Harrison.
Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr will participate in the November 29 show at London’s Royal Albert Hall to commemorate the first anniversary of Harrison’s death.
Eric Clapton will oversee the entertainment content for the concert, which will also feature Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne, who played with Harrison in the Traveling Wilburys; pianist and band leader Jools Holland; drummer Jim Keltner; conductor Michael Kamen; guitarist/singer Joe Brown; sitar master Ravi Shankar; and Monty Python alumni Eric Idle and Michael Palin.
More artists may be added to the lineup.
Proceeds from the show will go to support cancer research. Harrison died November 29, 2001, after battling cancer for a number of years.
