He’s Getting Better All The Time
NEW YORK (AP) – Alien Ant Farm singer Dryden Mitchell, who broke his neck in a bus crash in Spain, said he’s getting better every week.
The May accident also killed the driver and injured the rest of the band and six crew members. Mitchell told Rolling Stone magazine he broke the same vertebra that Christopher Reeve broke. He said people would tell him everything would be OK, but he could feel in the doctors’ voices they weren’t sure.
Two of Mitchell’s vertebrae have been fused, he’s gone through massive rehab and he wore a halo brace for three months. He still has nerve damage.
Mitchell also said his fingertips have no feeling, which makes it hard to play guitar, and if he moves his head down, his arms fall asleep.
Mitchell said it will be a couple of months before Alien Ant Farm return to the studio.
