Mayer, who has been on the road virtually non-stop since the beginning of last year, kicks off his latest touring trek October 8 in the U.K. and plays Europe, Australia and New Zealand through the month before landing Stateside at the beginning of November.

From November 7-17, Robert Randolph & The Family Band will accompany Mayer on the road. Nickel Creek pick up most of the remaining dates, playing November 20-25.

As he’s done before, Mayer’s Fan Club is offering presale opportunities to all who have signed on. Unlike most artists, who charge for presale services and fan club privileges, Mayer’s is currently free.

Blessed with good looks, a knack for writing accessible folk tunes and an embracing stage presence, Mayer has become the darling of fans and critics alike. His sophomore effort, Room For Squares, re-released September, 2001, has sold more than 1 million units and his EP, Inside Wants Out, which was just re-released, is selling like hot-cakes as well.

Mayer, who has seemingly exploded into the Top 40 consciousness, relishes catching the public by surprise. “… I really like the sentiment of ‘Where did this guy come from?’ You know, it’s just so defiant,” he told POLLSTAR. “There’s something just really, really fun about it.”
