The Road To Club Paradise
A while back, Vassar and Steve Mandile of SixWire owned a Nashville nightclub where they performed nightly with the rest of what is now SixWire. Johnson was the waitress/bartender and struggling songwriter, and the three musicians formed fast friendships. This tour celebrates their friendship and successes as country artists who’ve finally made it.
“It’s gonna be a blast! It’s gonna be like ‘back to the future,’ but a lot more fun,” Vassar said. “Being out with these guys will make every night a homecoming. We had nothing but fun back then. All of us were just scraping by and formed such great friendships.
“I hope everyone gets a glimpse into that feeling and we recreate all the fun we had when we were all hanging out in nightclubs together. We want this to be as much a memorable event and party as concert. We’re gonna have a bar on stage where winners can sit and watch the whole show from our perspective. It’s going to be high-energy and great music all the way! I can’t give away all the secrets of the stage, but be prepared for fun is all I can say!”
Following the Club Paradise Tour, both Vassar and SixWire will continue with shows of their own. Vassar’s itinerary has dates inked in through March while SixWire wrap things up around mid-December.
