Santana Has International Plans Next Year
During the first half of December, Santana will give European audiences a little taste of what they’re in for later on in the year. The band will be performing on various TV shows as well as doing private showcases in Spain and Germany. One of the private performances is for the Nobel Peace Prize concert held in Oslo, Norway.
The only show on the two-week promotional tour open to the general public is the December 16 gig at London’s Astoria. Tickets are already on sale for that.
Before crossing seas, Santana have four concerts in Texas and one in Miami in February.
The recently released album, Shaman, debuted at No. 1 and marked the highest first week sales in the band’s career. The disc features guest spots from Michelle Branch, Dido, P.O.D., Citizen Cope, Musiq and Ozomatli.
Thanks to their constant presence on the touring scene, Santana nabbed the No. 25 slot on POLLSTAR’s Ticket Sales Chart for the first half of 2002.
