Boo! Hiss! Cabin Fever
Colorado residents are no strangers to massive amounts of snow during the winter months and they understand the dread of cabin fever during those snowed-in days. Some have no choice but to endure it, but not the Yonder Mountain String Band. They’re hightailing it outta there in a bid to escape climbing the walls this winter.
The Cabin Fever Tour kicks off January 31 in St. Louis and will wind its way around the South and Midwest for several weeks.
Joining the jam band for a smattering of gigs (January 31, and February 1, 8 and 13) is bluegrass troubadour Larry Keel. Then the Reeltime Travelers hop on for a few shows near the end of the tour, February 25-31. Longtime Yonder Mountain friend Tim O’Brien will perform a special full set for the Madison, Wis., crowd.
Prior to the tour, Yonder Mountain will treat their hometown fans to a couple end-of-year shows. The big New Year’s Eve concert will take place at Denver’s Paramount Theatre – a first time performance in that venue for the band. Meanwhile, on the album front, Yonder Mountain have released the second in their Mountain Tracks series. The Vol. 2 disc features tracks from the band’s 2001 run of the Northwest.
