Often identified as part of the recent “Swedish Invasion,” along with friends and countrymen The Hives, The (International) Noise Conspiracy, and Sahara Hotnights, the band emerged from the ashes of cult favorites Union Carbide Productions. Back in 1992, that band received a piece of fan mail from none other than the late Kurt Cobain.

Union Carbide Productions was also courted by indie titan Sub Pop, but despite the high-profile adoration they eventually succumbed to personal differences. Of course, that band’s disintegration proved to be a blessing in disguise as vocalist Ebbot Lundberg and guitarists Ian Person and Björn Olsson (now departed) formed The Soundtrack Of Our Lives and began churning out increasingly popular albums.

Their most recent full-length, Behind The Music, was picked up by Universal and has become an international smash. Add a recent Grammy nomination for best alternative album and the band’s relentless touring, and 2003 looks to be a pretty stellar year for the six-piece group. The current lineup features Lundberg, Person, guitarist Matthias Barjed, keyboardist Martin Hederos, bassist Ake Karl Kalle Gustafsson and drummer Frederick Sandsten.

The tour starts March 15 in Orlando, Fla., and will run through the end of April. Tickets for most shows are currently on sale through Ticketmaster.
