Lollapalooza – Can It Be?
Perry Farrell teased fans last year by promising the return of the much-feted Lollapalooza festival. However, those dreams of be-boppin’ in the sun were crushed due to a “late start” on the plans and Farrell promised – he promised! – that 2003 would be the year.
It looks like he’s making good on his word.
Jane’s Addiction, Queens Of The Stone Age, Audioslave, Incubus and Jurassic 5 are all signed on to the traveling festival, which makes its return after a six year break. Dates, cities and venues have yet to be announced, but the fest looks to take place over the summer months. The Donnas are rumored to be opening.
Lollapalooza last made the rounds in 1997, when Korn, Tool, Snoop Dogg, Tricky, James and others were onboard. At the time, it was the seventh consecutive year for the music fest, which Farrell started.
