Mars Volta and Queens Of The Stone Age have been confirmed as opening acts for the first leg of the tour, which looks to run from May 1-19 and includes a few dates in Canada. The second leg launches June 2 and continues onward with Mars Volta again supporting and Snoop Dogg joining.

Additional legs and opening acts are expected to be announced at a later time, perhaps keeping the Peppers on the road clear through the summer.

According to the band’s Web site, “There will be a special presale for all Fanclub members before tickets go on general sale to ensure that this time, every Rockinfreak will be able to attend the shows.”

The Peppers have been packing arenas worldwide since hitting the road in support of their latest, By The Way, last June. Having already played South America, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and Thailand, the band are now launching their assault on European audiences through the spring.

This outing marks their first stream of home-side shows.
