“This has been the longest time of not playing and I can’t wait to get back out there again.”

And it appears audiences couldn’t wait for Gray to get back out there either. Things on his first round of American shows – which just wrapped – went so well that he’s decided to make another pass at arenas this summer.

The tour runs from July 17 through August 8, with more dates expected to be added. There’s no word on support acts yet. While in the U.K., Turin Brakes and James Yorkston opened for Gray.

Currently, Gray is in Europe and will stay there until the end of March. Come April, he’ll visit China and Singapore before heading on to Australia and New Zealand for a six-date run.

A New Day At Midnight is Gray’s first album in four years and has garnered both critical and public praise since its release last November.
