The tour marks matchbox twenty’s first big outing since 2001 and comes as the band’s third album, More Than You Think You Are, hits the multi-platinum sales level. Thanks to hit singles like “Unwell” and “Disease,” the disc looks to continue racking up the gold stars.

Prior to hitting the States, they’ll rock Europe on a nine-date run.

Meanwhile, Sugar Ray are putting the finishing touches on their fifth album, scheduled for a June 5 drop. The band is offering fans a taste of the new tunes through their Web site, sugarray.com.

Tickets for selected markets will go on sale March 7, with an AOL pre-sale beginning on the 5th. Fan club members can get their tickets, in specially reserved sections, through fanbox20.com.

At the band’s May 14 show in New Jersey, a 50-cent per ticket donation will go to Pets Alive, a no-kill animal shelter in the Catskill Mountains the band supports.
