The new dates are the latest in an annual jaunt for MacIsaac. He usually heads out around springtime and this year is no exception.

Known for blending traditional working-class fiddling with folk, punk and rock, MacIsaac has been wowing audiences since his prodigious childhood. The now twenty-something hails from the Nova Scotian area of Cape Breton – where a long line of phenomenal Celtic fiddlers come from, including cousin Natalie MacMaster.

MacIsaac’s most recent release is a Christmas album – A Cape Breton Christmas – that was actually a reissue from 1993. Prior to that, he teamed up with Howie MacDonald for capebretonfiddlemusicNOTCALM.

He’s said to have a new album coming out March 18, but details on that are hard to come by. He’s also written an autobiography, “Fiddling With Disaster,” which is expected to hit shelves in April.
