Joining Ringo on tour are a pack of talented musicians, each with their own successful careers. John Waite covers bass; Paul Carrack from Squeeze and Mike & The Mechanics handles keys; Colin Hay from Men At Work tackles guitar; percussion whiz Sheila E (formerly of Prince’s band) bangs out a few beats; and Mark Rivera of Billy Joel’s band is on sax.

Rivera also served as musical director on the All Starr’s last outing, over the summer of 2001. That itinerary looks eerily familiar to the current one on the books – right down to the starting point. This year’s tour launches July 24 and runs through September, hitting everything from amphitheatres to casinos, universities and entertainment parks.

Past All Starr tours have seen each band member performing hits from their own repertoires and joining Ringo on Beatles classics and some solo tunes.
