Mark Knopfler Cancels Tour
Former Dire Straits frontman Mark Knopfler has been forced to pull out of his tour plans due to injuries sustained in a motorbike accident in London in mid-March.
The rocker broke six ribs and a collarbone in the accident, in which Knopfler was knocked from his bike when it collided with a Fiat Punto in central London. Doctors have since recommended he cull all tour plans.
“A full recovery is anticipated in the long term, but a concert tour at this time is not possible,” a statement read. “Mark is obviously bitterly disappointed and would like to thank the fans who have sent him get well messages.
“All ticket holders for the shows should take their tickets back to the original point of purchase for a refund.”
