Aside from a handful of dates back in November, the Fountains Of Wayne folks – singer Chris Collingwood, bassist Adam Schlesinger, guitarist Jody Porter and drummer Brian Young – haven’t set out on a nationwide tour since 1999.

The tour looks to kick off July 3 in Milwaukee, Wis., at Summerfest, and wrap at the end of the month in Anaheim, Calif. Australian singer/songwriter Ben Lee has been announced as support for all dates except Summerfest.

After touring extensively in the late ‘90s in support of their first two albums, Fountains Of Wayne took a three-year hiatus, during which they claim to have “discovered many interesting things about the music business.”

Whether said “discoveries” were inspirational or inhibiting, the boys managed to record their new album, self-produced by songwriters Schlesinger and Collingwood along with longtime collaborator Mike Denneen.

The album features guest appearances by the likes of pedal-steel sensation Robert Randolph and former Smashing Pumpkin James Iha, and is set for U.S. release June 10 on S-Curve/Virgin.

Now, in support of their latest effort, they’re setting out across the country and promising to “give 100 percent every night.”

Tickets for most dates are already on sale through Ticketmaster, with prices looking to fall within the $12-$18 range.
