Izzard, resplendent in drag and armed with his lightning quick wit, is set to treat North American fans from late August through November as he makes the theatre rounds. In San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia and New York, he’ll be camping out for five-night runs.

Just before hitting North American theatres, Izzard will take fans south of the northern hemisphere for a ride. He launches an eight-date Australian tour July 16 and moves to New Zealand August 6 for five shows. A U.K. arena tour is expect to follow the U.S. stint.

Izzard is best known for his one-man show “Dress To Kill,” which has aired on HBO. The show netted him three Emmy nominations, of which two were awarded, and is now available for the first time on DVD this side of the Atlantic.

More than just a stand-up act, Izzard is also known in thespian circles. He’s currently starring in “A Day In The Death Of Joe Egg” on Broadway and has appeared in movies including “Velvet Goldmine,” “Mystery Men,” and “The Cat’s Meow.”

Most tickets to “Sexie” are already on sale, with a special thank you to fans from Izzard – no additional handling or surcharges will be added. Ticketmaster lists them as $50, $40, and $30, depending on seating.
