After sharing the stage last fall with such hip-hop luminaries as Jay-Z and N.E.R.D. on the Sprite Liquid Mix Tour – which snuck under Pollstar’s 2002 Top 100 Tours radar at No. 99 – 311 is getting back to the rock this summer. Something Corporate has been enlisted as support for most shows, and O.A.R. and G. Love & Special Sauce will also open on various dates.

Lest you get the idea 311 is embarking on this ambitious outing just for their health, we should let you know that the tour is in support of their new album, Evolver, due in late July.

The disc is their seventh in their 10 years together. The band plans to showcase their new songs on this tour, even before the album hits the streets.

“If we push it down people’s throats, I think people are gonna understand what we’re feeling,” bassist P-Nut told MTV News.
