Kelly Clarkson Goes Country
Little Miss Independent Kelly Clarkson is branching out for her first tour without the “American Idol” crew. Eight shows are on the list for August, with Clarkson sticking to a state and country fair circuit in the Midwest.
Clarkson told VH1 recently that “we’ve already talked to people about maybe [touring] worldwide and stuff like that, so everything is looking really positive,” leaving the door open for more dates to be tacked onto the brief run.
Since winning the “American Idol” contest last year, Clarkson has wasted no time making good on that prize record contract. She released her debut album, Thankful, on RCA Records earlier this spring to an impressive No. 1.
Her movie with runner-up Justin Guarini, “From Justin To Kelly,” didn’t fare as well at the box office, but that hasn’t stopped Clarkson from conquering the charts. Singles from Thankful have all fared well, with most of them hitting the top slot.
