The band has been touring the world for a full year now, supporting their acclaimed 2002 Matador release, Turn On The Bright Lights. They’ve currently got August dates lined up for a diverse array of countries, including Japan, Australia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Germany.

Now they’ve tacked on another string of Stateside dates, running from September 16 in Montreal to October 1 in Los Angeles.

Those who can’t make the live shows don’t have to feel completely left out. The band will be appearing on the boob tube July 30 as part of the WB network’s “Pepsi Smash” concert, and German fans can catch a recently filmed performance on the WDR’s “Rockpalast Bootleg” show July 27. The four fashionistas (plus touring keyboardist Eric Altesleben) also made an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” last week.

European fans are in for a couple more treats. A six-song disc known as the Black EP is scheduled to see light in August. The EP, to be released on as-yet-unnamed European labels, reportedly contains a demo version of “NYC” as well as several songs recorded on French radio station France Inter’s “Black Session” show.

September will see the release of a multi-part single for the song “Obstacle 1” on Matador UK.

Pre-sales for North American dates are already taking place, and tickets for most shows are now available to the public. Run!
