This spring, the band – Raul Malo, Robert Reynolds and Paul Deakin – announced their first show together in three years. At the time, a world tour was expected for the fall, and it looks like they’re going to deliver.

The reunited country/rockers have inked in an initial batch of U.S. and U.K. shows, with the whole thing starting off September 17 in Nashville. Following a couple weeks on the East Coast, the band heads across the Atlantic where they’ll stay through November 7.

The tour is expected to move to Texas and the West Coast after Thanksgiving (November 27), but no itinerary has been announced for that leg yet.

New member Eddie Perez (guitar and vocals) will join the group on the road, as will The Hot Club Of Cowtown, who will open select U.S. dates.

The Mavericks unofficially split in the late ‘90s when the members began pursuing their individual musical interests. Malo recorded a solo album and toured as a solo artist as well as with Los Super Seven, and Deakin joined with Reynolds and Jerry Dale McFadden to form Swag. While their individual efforts were successful, they each eventually found themselves missing the Mavericks.

Now, the band’s back together and making sweet music once more. Their self-titled disc is slated for release some time in September.

The group last toured in 1999 when they supported Dwight Yoakam for some summer shows.
