Earlier this summer, sources told POLLSTAR that if the tour happens, the tempestuous twosome would head out in October or November and play arenas in 20 to 30 markets.

Those speculations are turning out to be right on target. Details are still being announced, but it looks like the outing will launch October 18 in Detroit.

“Because we tend to [go on tour] every 10 to 12 years, I think this is probably going to be the last time that we’re going to do this” Simon said at the duo’s press conference announcing the tour.

The last time Simon and Garfunkel teamed for actual concerts was for Simon’s Concert Event of a Lifetime series of shows in 1993. The production included a sold-out, 21-night run at what was then the Paramount Theatre at Madison Square Garden that grossed $8.42 million.

Prior to that, their last tour was in 1983.
