Remembering Elliott
Several artists are set to pay tribute to singer/songwriter Elliott Smith during a memorial concert held at the Henry Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles November 3.
The event will feature Beck, Beth Orton, Grandaddy, Radar Brothers, Rilo Kiley, Future Pigeon, and other to-be-announced special guests.
Proceeds will benefit the Elliott Smith Foundation For Abused Children. Smith, who died October 21 in an apparent suicide, set up the foundation himself.
Tickets are available through TicketWeb and are reported to be $20. Good luck getting tickets, though. It appears the show has already sold out. However, TicketWeb’s Web site indicates they will be releasing more ducats.
The event will also feature a screening of Steven Hanft’s documentary that featured Smith, “Strange Parallel.”
