There’s a big gap between the one confirmed date for the U.K. (April 30) and another in the Netherlands (July 8), leaving plenty of room for Costello to fill in the blanks with a European tour.

Costello has recently released an album that is markedly different from his previous rocking effort, When I Was Cruel. The new North finds the artist taking a more mellow route, filling the record with piano-heavy tunes.

It’s anyone’s guess if Costello’s usual backing band, The Imposters, will accompany him this time around. As his new disc features lush string and horn arrangements, fans could wager bets on Costello bringing a whole slew of musicians in addition to his mainstays – Steve Nieve (keys), Pete Thomas (drums) and Davey Farragher (bass).

The Imposters joined Costello on a North American summer trek this year. They even ventured into Japan and Europe.
