The said events will feature Bright Eyes along with Jim James of My Morning Jacket and M.Ward on theatre stages February 19-29.

M. Ward is a regular touring partner for Oberst and the Bright Eyes collective, although it seems he hasn’t accompanied the troupe of musicians since 2002. Last year, he supported both Rilo Kiley and Vic Chesnutt on separate outings.

However, the Bright Eyes link-up is a first time for My Morning Jacket‘s Jim James. The Southern outfit have some dates of their own in the new year, before leader James splits to accompany the evening of solo and collaborative performances.

Oberst’s other other project, the Desaparecidos, was due into the studio to wrap up a new album for next spring, but have been forced to can that due to conflicting schedules. They also announced they’re off the Plea For Peace tour with Cursive, although they stress that they believe in the cause “100 percent and hope everyone will support it.”

Meanwhile, Bright Eyes have A Christmas Album available exclusively through their record label’s store at saddle-creek.com. The record features traditional Christmas tunes as arranged by Oberst and company. Proceeds from the sales will go to the Nebraska AIDS Project.
