The Mekons Punk North America
Seminal political rockers the Mekons are gearing up for another tour. The band has been bringing the world the finest in anti-establishment post-punk since emerging in 1977 from Leeds, England, and they don’t look to stop soon.
Their March tour of North America starts on the 9th in Pittsburgh at the Club Cafe, and is scheduled to run through the 24th, when they’ll wrap at Slim’s in San Francisco.
Rumor has it the band will be filling the schedule out with additional shows, possibly including Texas and Chicago, but those are still unconfirmed.
Their new album, Punk Rock, is the 21st for the band and contains new recordings of songs written at the beginning of their career. The record follows 2002’s 25th anniversary tour and album, OOOH! (Out Of Our Heads).
