Who Goes There
The Who have announced that they will be performing their legendary rock opera, “Tommy,” on March 29 at London’s Royal Albert Hall. The performance will kick off the five-day-long Teenage Cancer Trust Benefit , which also features Stereophonics, Tom Jones, and Jools Holland, each with special guests including David Gilmour, Sam Brown, Solomon Burke, Marc Almond, Mica Paris and Ruby Turner.
A comedy showcase is also on the bill, hosted by Steve Coogan as Alan Partridge.
This is the fourth year the Royal Albert Hall has hosted the annual event, which was the brainchild of Who lead singer Roger Daltrey.
“Teenagers with cancer are still discriminated against by the NHS [National Health Service],” Daltrey said. “It is my mission, through these shows, to end this prejudice. Without teenagers, there would be no pop industry and it is about time they are recognized by the NHS as the distinct group of people that they are.”
