The band’s North American tour kicks off February 4-5 with a two-night stand at New York City’s Irving Plaza. They’ll proceed to spend a couple weeks in Florida, where several shows were announced previously. Most of those shows, like the New York gigs, are already sold out, but luckily, they’ve just added some extra dates in St. Augustine and Jacksonville.

The tour continues through Texas to the western states, and is scheduled to wrap with another double-nighter April 9-10 at The Crystal Ballroom in Portland, Ore. The band also aims to squeeze in an appearance at the U.K. All Tomorrow’s Parties April 2.

Helio Sequence, Eugene Mirman, and French Toast are all scheduled to support on various U.S. dates. Benjamin Weikel will be doing double duty, hitting the skins for Helio Sequence as well as fulfilling his relatively new role as official Modest Mouse drummer.

The long-awaited and oft-postponed new Modest Mouse album – Good News For People Who Love Bad News – is now set for an April 6 release date on Epic. The first single, “Float On,” drops February 10.
