Feel The Byrne
After a relatively brief absence from the road, David Byrne has a European tour in store. Rumors of dates all over the world are floating, but for now, the itinerary spans eleven countries, beginning with Italy. The tour kicks off in Bologna March 22.
The former Talking Head is planning to swing through Italy twice on the jaunt, and the U.K. gets him for a full week in April. The tour is scheduled to wrap in Paris on May 5 at Le Bataclan.
Prior to the European jaunt, he’ll appear at the Tibet House Benefit Concert February 25 at Carnegie Hall in New York.
The tour coincides with the March 16 release of Byrne’s latest record, Grown Backwards, which features collaborations with Rufus Wainwright and the Carla Bley Band. The album is his first since 2001’s Look Into The Eyeball, not counting last year’s Lead Us Not Into Temptation: Music From The Film “Young Adam,” which he conceived and recorded with Belle & Sebastian and Mogwai.
