Pat McGee Band Gets Saved
The Pat McGee Band may have kept a lower profile last year, but they’re getting back in your face this spring with a two-month tour beginning April 2 in East Lansing, Mich.
They’ll be backing their new album, Save Me, set for release April 6 on Warner Bros. The first single, “Beautiful Ways,” is out now and available in EP format with four live songs through iTunes. The album follows their 2000 major-label debut, Shine.
“We made a real return to our rock roots,” McGee said. “This is a real guitar-driven record with a major emphasis on songwriting. We went into the process with one goal: to make it believable. It’s not about perfection. It’s about authenticity.”
The band took the first half of 2003 off to work on Save Me, but they were back on the circuit by August. They spent Labor Day weekend jamming it up on the Rock Boat cruise with Edwin McCain, Cowboy Mouth and others.
