The demand for the Pixies is still at least as fervent overseas as it is at home – all 19,000 seats for the band’s four London shows at the Brixton Academy sold out within two hours.

The band’s North American “warm-up” leg begins April 13 in Minneapolis, and culminates in the band’s May 1 appearance at Indio, Calif.’s Coachella Festival. Next they’ll head south to Brazil for the Curitiba Pop Festival May 8, before kicking off their European tour on the 26th at Kaplakripa in Reykjavik, Iceland.

Upon their return to the U.S., they’ll headline the in Seattle, Wash., September 6. Nas and Nickelback are also confirmed for that event.

The Pixies – vocalist/guitarist Frank Black, guitarist Joey Santiago, bassist Kim Deal and drummer David Lovering – haven’t played together since they broke up in 1993 after five acclaimed albums.
