Van Halen Tour Official
Van Halen‘s long-rumored reunion tour is now officially confirmed. As suspected, vocalist/guitarist Sammy Hagar is returning to the fold for the trek, which will kick off June 11 in Greensboro, N.C., and continue through the summer. They’ll wrap with a string of California gigs, finishing off August 19 in Los Angeles.
Hagar announced last fall he had begun speaking with Eddie and Alex Van Halen for the first time since leaving the band in 1996 after an argument. Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony has been a regular presence at Hagar shows for the last couple of years.
Van Halen’s last outing was in 1998, with former Extreme singer Gary Cherone handling vocal duties. Their last tour with Hagar wrapped in late 1995; the eight-month outing sold more than a million tickets, grossing $32 million.
