She’s just finished a round of European dates and a New York benefit for The Bereaved Israeli and Palestinian Parents’ Circle. Next up is the Fuck Cancer show, a benefit for tour manager Jackie Farry, who was recently diagnosed with multiple myeloma. The full lineup for the May 11 event has yet to be announced, although Har Mar Superstar and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Nick Zinner (as DJ) are confirmed to join Marshall at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom.

Cat Power’s West Coast tour officially begins May 18 in Tucson, Ariz., at Solar Culture. She’ll storm through California with a week’s worth of shows, including double gigs in Los Angeles and San Francisco, before heading up to George, Wash., for the Sasquatch Festival.

Marshall has earned a reputation for emotionally charged, often erratic performances, but despite the drama, Cat Power regularly draws raves from critics and fans alike. Her last album, You Are Free, was released on Matador Records in early 2003.
