Hanson Goes Indie
The Oklahoma-born siblings will kick off the trek July 5 at Myrtle Beach, S.C.’s House of Blues, and follow with shows at high-profile venues including The Tabernacle in Atlanta, Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, and New York City’s Irving Plaza, where they’ll do a double shot July 14 and 16.
The boys – er, men – released their third album, Underneath, last month on their own new label, 3CG Records. The record debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s independent chart and hit No. 25 on the top 200.
Zac told The Grand Rapids Press that the group has big plans for its new record company.
“It was completely by our choice (to avoid major labels),” he said. “This is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time. And we’ve always aspired to write songs for other people and produce other people’s music. Hopefully, we can be a help to new artists in the way people helped us.”
