The tour adheres to its California billing for the most part, beginning June 10 in El Cajon and finishing up June 26 in Kelseyville. A few shows in Nevada, Oregon and Washington are also on the schedule.

Singer Jakob Dylan and his bandmates promise to bring “fresh vitality” to their hits, play some band rarities and covers, and debut some new tunes. The group is preparing to record the follow-up to last year’s Red Letter Days.

The new disc will be produced by Brendan O’Brien (Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam), who will also be joining the band on tour as lead guitarist.

“The band has been talking with Brendan about working together for a long time, and we’re thrilled that the timing is finally right to make a record with him and get him on stage with us,” Dylan said.

“Yes, he is a producer of great distinction, and yes, he plays a mean guitar,” he added, “but he is the new guy and we hope he doesn’t think he’s getting the good bunk on the bus.”
