She supports Sting in Europe from May 25 to June 20, making a quick trip home to Manchester, Tenn., June 11 for an appearance at the Bonnaroo Festival. She’ll open for Lou Reed June 23 at Carnegie Hall in New York City, then do a short string of solo headline dates on the East Coast and Canada.

Next, she jumps onboard with Alanis Morissette and Barenaked Ladies, with whom she’ll tour the U.S. for the remainder of July.

McKay released her debut album, Get Away From Me, on Columbia Records in February. The double disc has been met with widespread critical praise, including glowing write-ups in Rolling Stone and The New Yorker.

Although the press is quick to praise McKay, journalists have some trouble pinning her down – stylistically, she has drawn comparisons to such seemingly incongruous figures as Doris Day, Ella Fitzgerald and Eminem.
