They whetted fans’ appetites in April with a five-song EP, Indestructible Object. The disc is their first for indie label Barsuk, and follows the band’s 2002 children’s album, No!

Last fall, the band appeared on the charity album Wig In A Box, which featured songs from and inspired by John Cameron Mitchell’s play and film “Hedwig and the Angry Inch.” Rufus Wainwright, Frank Black, Yoko Ono & Yo La Tengo, Jonathan Richman and others contributed to the project, a benefit for Manhattan’s Harvey Milk School for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered students.

The summer tour looks to begin July 2 in Columbus, Ohio. The band’s Web site promises “30 cities – no brakes!” although only about 17 dates are confirmed, including a double spot in Dallas July 17-18.
