Brit-Hop Invades
British 2-step/garage/hip-hop phenomenon The Streets, a.k.a. producer/vocalist Mike Skinner, is coming to America. The Streets’ sophomore album, A Grand Don’t Come For Free, was released in May.
The tour kicks off June 11 at the
Skinner’s countryman Dizzee Rascal – who has made a similar leap from the clubs to the charts – will appear on several dates, including a two-night stand at New York City’s Irving Plaza.
The Streets will close out the summer with a few festival appearances, including Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival and the Carling Leeds and Reading blowouts back home in the U.K.
Dizzee Rascal also plans to appear at Fuji, after spending late July in Australia.
