Beulah Breaks Up
It looks like the rumors are finally true. Beulah, the San Francisco band responsible for four acclaimed albums of acclaimed lo-fi indie-pop, is breaking up.
The band announced the news via press release June 10. Their final hometown performance will take place June 26 at The Fillmore, and a free August 5 show at Battery Park in New York City will be the group’s last.
Breakup rumors had been swirling over the last year, fueled in no small part by the band’s suggestive public comments and Web site posts.
The group’s last album, Yoko, was released last fall on Velocette Records.
