Original members Brian Setzer, Lee Rocker and Slim Jim Phantom kicked off a 17-show run July 5 in Paris. They’ll play cities in eight countries on the jaunt, which wraps July 30 in Amsterdam, Holland.

All shows are being recorded and released on CD. Surfdog Records plans to have each disc in European stores within a week of the concert, with all 17 seeing U.S. release in August.

The July 17 show at London’s Brixton Academy, which is already sold out, will be captured for release as a live CD/DVD set titled Rumble In Brixton (a play on the band’s 1982 hit song “Rumble In Brighton”).

The tour is the band’s first since 1992, although they have done a few reunion shows over the years. Setzer has spent most of his time concentrating on his big-band solo project, the aptly named Brian Setzer Orchestra.
