Melua (pronounced Mel-OH-ah) is one of England’s newest sensations, a 20-year-old singer who knocked Dido off the top position of the U.K. charts and is grabbing as much attention overseas for her looks as she is for her music (something she admitted to Pollstar was “bloody awful, to be honest”).

When she’s done with her brief tour of the U.S., she’s heading back across the Pond, but she definitely won’t be playing intimate shows like she is here. It’s normal for her to play 4,000- to 5,000 capacity venues in Europe and the upcoming dates include London’s Royal Albert Hall October 22nd.

Her trek across the eastern states is less hectic, which should give fans and the curious alike a chance to grab a good seat before she makes a name over here as well.

She begins her tour at New York City’s 150-capacity Fez Under Time CafĂ© on August 22nd. She travels to similar-sized clubs in Alexandria, Va.; Annapolis, Md.; Tampa, Fla.; Nashville; and Memphis before wrapping things in Kansas City September 2nd. She has an August 28th stop at Orlando, Fla.’s Universal Studios Citywalk, that holds 7,500.
