From The Belly
She hasn’t always taken the spotlight, but Tanya Donelly has been a driving force in indie rock for nearly two decades. She’s keeping up the good work this year with her third solo effort, Whiskey Tango Ghosts, and a late-summer tour.
The former Belly frontwoman – who also helped found Throwing Muses and the Breeders – kicks off a quick East Coast run August 11 in Boston.
After two Massachusetts stops and a New York City gig, she’ll skip across the country for a double-night stand in Hollywood. The schedule is open after that, save one September 18 show in San Francisco.
Whiskey Tango Ghosts drops August 10 on 4AD. Donelly’s history with the label goes back to 1985, when Throwing Muses became the British company’s first American act.
