Helmet frontman Page Hamilton was getting his kicks on a mountain bike recently when he broke his collar bone.

The accident has forced the band to revise their tour dates. Their first road trip in seven years will now start in early October.

This news also affects the release date of Size Matters (Interscope), which has been moved to October 5 from its original September 14 release.

Seven September tour dates running the 17th – 30th in Atlanta; Washington D.C; Asbury Park and Hoboken, N.J.; New York City; Philadelphia; Rochester, N.Y. are off the schedule for the moment.

Helmet reps told Pollstar that the band is hoping to add makeup dates in November.

The club tour marks the band’s first trek since 1997 and will see Helmet return to some of the venues they cut their teeth in.

Group founder and Hamilton will be joined by bandmates Chris Traynor (guitars); John Tempesta, formerly of Zombie (drums); and Frank Bello, formerly of Anthrax (bass).

Stay tuned for full details about the rescheduled tour dates.
