The former Beatle toured Europe in May and June, playing the Rock In Rio and Glastonbury festivals and performing in several cities for the first time ever.

McCartney’s previous outing, the “Back In The World” tour, won Major Tour of the Year honors at the 2003 Pollstar Concert Industry Awards. That jaunt began in April 2002 after a 10-year absence from the road. By the time he wrapped in spring 2003, the tour had grossed a good $114 million with nearly a million tickets sold.

In other Macca news, former Beach Boy Brian Wilson has reportedly said he and Paul are planning to collaborate on an album in 2005.

McCartney recently joined with soccer star David Beckham and other celebrities to donate thousands of dollars to a fund raising drive to help victims of the Russian school hostage tragedy in Beslan.
